TRADER INFO - CHESTER THE CARRIAGE SHED
We're thrilled to have you join us as a trader at Midcentury Markets - Chester!
Please read through our Trader Info for event specific details and set up information.
This page is regularly updated to reflect current loading information. Please make sure you have read and understood the information, even if you have traded with us at this venue previously, as this may have changed.
PLEASE NOTE: The Carriage Shed is covered but is technically open-air. Whilst we are choosing warmer months to trade at this venue, we recommend bringing an extra layer in case it gets cold.
ARRIVING AT THE CARRIAGE SHED
Address: The Carriage Shed, City Place, City Rd, Chester, CH1 3DR
For detailed directions and transport options, please check the location on Google Maps
LOADING AND PARKING
There is a car park directly adjacent to Carriage Shed (Chester Station East), just a few metres from the site. Parking is £10 for the day. There are also more affordable parking options available within a 5–10 minute walk, please visit Parkopedia.com for further details.
For food traders and drinks trailers, there is direct access onto the site for set-up. A removable bollard on the right-hand side of the venue allows vehicle access, and a gate at the opposite end (by One City Place) can be opened via code to accommodate larger vehicles.
SET UP TIMES
9:00am – Trader entry
Doors open for traders. You’ll have 2 hours to load in and set up.
10:00am – Last arrival
All traders must arrive by 10:00am to allow enough setup time.
11:00am – Doors open
Please be fully set up and ready to trade by this time.
4:00pm – Event closes
No packing up before 4:00pm. Please pack away your own table.
6:00pm – Exit deadline
All traders must leave by 6:00pm. Late departures may incur a venue fine.
Please be ready by opening time and remain set up until closing. It’s really important that all stalls are fully set up before doors open and stay in place until the event ends. Early packing away affects the atmosphere for visitors and can make the fair feel less professional. It’s also essential for our risk assessment and insurance that the fair is fully ready before opening.
PLEASE NOTE all trader waste must be removed from the site by the respective traders at the end of the event and disposed of appropriately off-site. Any trader found leaving waste on-site or disposing of it in public bins at the venue will be subject to a fine.
WHAT TO BRING
Please note, we do not have spare cables available on site. Traders requiring power must be set up next to the power points, as cables cannot run across walkways.
Only bring the products listed in your application form. Any additional or different items must be approved in advance by the Midcentury Markets team.
The following items are not permitted: clothing; real fur or taxidermy; items newer than the 1990s; or anything that could be considered offensive.
Refreshments are available for purchase at most of our events. If you prefer to bring your own lunch, please step outside the market area to eat. Many of our venues don’t allow outside food, and it also helps maintain a more professional appearance for customers.
PLEASE NOTE there are no toilet facilities available on-site. However, public toilets are available at the nearby train station.
FOOD/DRINKS SELLERS
Food and drink vendors are required to submit copies of their food hygiene certificate, public liability insurance, risk assessment and any other relevant documentation via email. Vendors who have not provided these documents in advance will not be permitted to trade on the day of the event. All stalls must clearly display allergen information.
Please note that food and drink stalls are located outdoors in an uncovered area at this venue. Vendors are therefore required to bring their own gazebo or suitable covering.
WI-FI ACCESS
There is no access to Wi-Fi at this venue
